So how important is the top spot when people are searching for you?  According to the Chitika Network it can mean the difference between success and failure.  According to research the number one spot on Google generates 34.35% of all traffic for any search.  That is almost as much as the number 2 through 5 spots combined (http://insights.chitika.com/2010/the-value-ofgoogle-results-positioning/).  The biggest jump, according to the Chitika research is from the top of page two to the bottom of page one.  There is an increase in traffic of 143% between these two positions.
