Undenatured Whey Protein Shakes important part of cleansing and weight loss

“Cleansing” is a hot topic now in the U.S. especially where I live in Colorado. So in vogue now, that it can cause one to just do nothing because of the daunting task to find a safe, reliable, and affordable system.

There are many products and companies touting that they have the magic juice or ingredient to “cleanse” our body. However, data supports the importance of having a full spectrum nutritional intake to support the body in cleansing using both phase one and phase two pathways.

The body has 2 main pathways of detoxification called phase one and phase two. Thus, it is important to support our bodies with a mulititude of ingredients so it utilizes both pathways and not over burden any of our bodies natural cleansing abilities. The information about harmful chemicals all around us is becoming more mainstream. Everyday there are articles, and news reports about how every day chemicals that we don’t even give a second thought about are being found to negatively impact our health. In a recent letter from the Environmental Defense Fund they state “many of these chemicals have never been safety tested”. So you ask might yourself, “what does this mean to me”? Consider that one of the key issues the EDF is alerting us to is the fact that these chemicals have not been tested for their cumulative effects on our bodies, and they have not been tested on how they interact with each other in our bodies. The National Geographic magazine in an article in the fall of 2006 addressed this very scary fact. So what do we do to help protect ourselves?

Over the past year Isagenix has made changes to their Isalean shakes,Cleanse for life,Want More Energy drink, and many of the other products they offer. Not only have they added new ingredients to the already superior products, they have changed the flavor on some of those products. Making the shakes more like milkshakes, the cleanse more appealing and fruity, and the Want More Energy is fantastic. My son said it tasted better than other sports drinks he had tasted. I must say I also enjoy Want More Energy everyday.

Awhile back I wrote about the new IsaLean shake that was coming out. It has been about a month since then. I have tried the new shake and I find it to be delicious. It is every bit as good as promised. Now I like vanilla so that is what I ordered. The taste is just like a vanilla milkshake. I blend it with ice and it is amazing. As a dietary supplement-
Recently, the açaí “berry” has been touted and marketed as a highly beneficial dietary supplement. Companies sell açaí berry products in the form of tablets, juice, smoothies, instant drink powders, and whole fruit.

Marketers of these products make claims that açaí provides increased energy levels, improved sexual performance, improved digestion, detoxification, high fiber content, high antioxidant content, improved skin appearance, improved heart health, improved sleep, and reduction of cholesterol levels. More dubious claims include reversal of diabetes and other chronic illnesses, as well as expanding size of the penis and increasing men’s sexual virility and sexual attractiveness to women. Açaí is most commonly marketed as a weight loss product.

As of March 2009, there are no controlled studies backing up any of these claims. According to ABC News correspondent Susan Donaldson, these products have not been evaluated (in the United States) by the FDA, and their efficacy is questionable.
